I’m a Business Innovation student and in regards to the future, there has been a lot of momentum. I will use this part of the blog in order to describe my future vision upon graduating and having a few years running up and down in a company.
Firstly, even though I am a student of Innovation. My passion lies in two things which are creating sustainable business and food.
After graduating it is finally time to use all the build up momentum in order to achieve all my goals. Since the age of 16, I’ve known that what I wanted was to start a sustainable business in the food industry. The only thing is that I will need experience. In order for me to do this, it is time to work at companies that are really trying to make a change and learn from them. 2021 might just be the year where I start out my very own first restaurant or food startup, whatever it is it should be valuable to the world.
Reflecting on the past in order to decide the future.
Ok, I have been thinking, reading, listening and doing some research and I think there is a very interesting way to look at the future. But let’s start with our ancestors. If we go back 50.000 years ago, your ancestor was a hunter-gatherer, a human that lived to have food, reproduction, living in different parts of the world, where who knows what could happen!? Too many things that were unknown, dangerous people were completely discomforted by any experience thrown on their paths.
And today 2018, there is no difference! we’re actually still this hunter-gatherer, we’re just surrounded by robots, technology, and answers. We got a gift which defines our society and this gift is called comfort.
We are very comfortable with our lives, our vacations are planned just as well as the scripts are written for actors, our meals are every day at the same time. Sometimes I get the question, what did you do last week? And my mind turns oblivious, I feel like my memory doesn’t work, but it’s just that every day is created by comfort.
Too many times I have been trying to overcome comfort in order to really become that person, that I dream about. To be adventurous, to see through my projects and build something that gives me joy, to create a bucket list and seek discomfort.
There is a saying which says “nothing gives satisfaction like water after intense thirst”. But in order to get satisfaction, you need seek the experience where get discomfort and enjoy the water like your ancestor does.
So, for my vision for 2021, I hope to remember this, seek discomfort and create memories.
